Ni Wares, where it all began.

Designed over many years in the speciality coffee industry and coffee competition arenas. Ni was born to bring the absolute best out of any coffee as well as allowing the use to person use their experiences.

We talk with our founder Hany Ezzat on the origins of Ni Wares and its fruition.

Ezzat's inspiration struck in 2019, during his preparations for the Australian Brewers Cup. Immersed in the cafe scene for years, he keenly understood the profound impact that the vessel had on one's coffee-drinking journey. As he pondered over two distinct cups, one with a thick lip and the other with a thin lip, a groundbreaking idea emerged—why not combine the best of both worlds?

Thus began the quest to create the perfect cup for Brewers Cup (filter coffee competiton). Ezzat took to social media, seeking out local ceramists who could help bring his vision to life. Influenced by the principles of Gastrophysics, particularly the work of Charles Spence, he delved into the intricate science behind the art of drinking.

Collaborating with Madeline Cardone, Ezzat delved into a myriad of shapes, glazes, colors, and thicknesses. Their experimentation culminated in the birth of the Bouba cup, now known as the first creation of Ni Wares. This innovative design not only serves multiple functions but also fosters a deeper connection between the user and their beverage.

Ezzat envisions Ni Wares making waves across cafes, home baristas, and competition arenas worldwide. The dual-lipped cup transcends mere functionality; it invites users to engage more deeply with their coffee, fostering an appreciation for its nuances—from the producer to the region and variety.
